Train like it matters. Every week.

GUNFIGHTER DOJO

A single class gives you a foundation. The Gunfighter Dojo is where that foundation gets built into real ability, and it keeps building for as long as you train.

The Dojo is Double Tapp Range’s ongoing weekly training program. Every Sunday, Paul Sweeney, a retired Force Recon Marine, leads hands-on sessions drawn from his complete curriculum. That curriculum covers everything it takes to become a skilled, confident, capable defender of yourself and the people you love.

This isn’t a show and it isn’t a highlight reel. Paul doesn’t teach memorized moves. He teaches you to think, to read the problem in front of you, and to act decisively under pressure. Every session meets you where you are and moves you forward.

Who it’s for

  • People who carry, protect a family, or serve in a protective role and know one class isn’t enough

  • Shooters who want steady, measurable progress, not just range time

  • New and experienced shooters alike. Your first visit includes an assessment, so you train at the right level from day one.

  • Anyone who wants to go all the way: the Dojo can take you to instructor level, with a formal evaluation and a DTR instructor certificate

What you’ll train

  • Weapons skills: draw, accuracy and speed, malfunctions, reloads, transitions

  • Movement and tactics: using cover, angles, low light, moving and shooting

  • Decision-making: recognizing threats, choosing the right response, and solving the problem in front of you

  • And beyond: advanced skills and, for those who want it, preparation for instructor evaluation and certification

What you’ll walk away with

  • Skills that hold up under stress, not just on a calm day at the range

  • Confidence built through repetition, coaching, and real progress

  • A clear progression, from fundamentals to advanced to a DTR instructor certificate, if you choose

  • A community of serious, like-minded people who train with purpose

How it works

  • When: Sundays at 12:30PM; about 2 hours per session

  • First visit, $20: Paul assesses your current skill level so your training starts where you are

  • Ongoing training: A continuous curriculum. You keep progressing as long as you keep showing up.

  • Instructor track: When you’re ready, Paul evaluates you for instructor certification. Pass, and you earn your DTR instructor certificate.

  • Where: Double Tapp Range
